Our concrete polishing process
- Free on-site quote. Call (404) 480-0962 or request one online. On new builds we coordinate timing with your builder and agree the finish up front.
- Surface preparation. On new slabs prep is light. We clean, repair any early shrinkage cracks and remove trade spills or marks.
- Grinding. Coarse diamond tooling flattens the slab and sets the aggregate exposure you chose.
- Honing and densifying. Finer diamonds refine the surface while a densifier hardens the young concrete.
- Polishing. We bring the floor to your chosen sheen, seal it, and hand over ready for move-in.

How soon after pouring can a slab be polished?
We like the slab to reach its 28-day cure before final polishing, because young concrete grinds and densifies differently as it hardens. On a tight build schedule we can sometimes do initial grinding earlier and return for the finish passes, but we plan that with your builder rather than improvising it on site. Booking us before the pour keeps the sequence clean.
Should polishing happen before or after the interior is finished?
The sweet spot is after the messy overhead work, drywall, paint and ceilings, but before trim, cabinets and fixtures go in. That gives us open floor to run machines and keeps splatter off the finished surface. The floor then gets protected with breathable coverings while the remaining trades finish. We will slot into your builder's schedule either way, this order just gives the best result.
Will control joints and trowel marks show in the finished floor?
Control joints stay, they are doing a structural job, but we can fill them flush so they read as clean lines rather than gaps. Trowel marks and most surface blemishes grind out completely in the first passes. What you end up with depends partly on the pour quality, which is why we like talking to the concrete crew beforehand and why we grind a sample area for approval before the final polish.
How does the cost compare to hardwood or luxury vinyl?
On a new build it is usually competitive with mid-range hardwood or quality vinyl plank installed, and the longer view favors the concrete: nothing to refinish, re-glue or replace, because the floor is the slab itself. It also cannot be water-damaged the way wood and plank can. We are happy to quote it alongside our hardwood service so you can compare real numbers for your plan.
