How we work inside an occupied office building
- Free on-site survey. Call (404) 480-0962 or request one online. We check what is under the carpet, test the slab, and confirm what the building will allow and when.
- Phasing agreed with building management. Working hours, access, elevator use, containment and the handback time for each floor are agreed in writing before we mobilize.
- Strip out and adhesive removal. Carpet tile, vinyl or raised access floor comes out, then bonded adhesive residue is mechanically ground off under full dust extraction.
- Polished or coated to specification. The slab is polished to the agreed sheen, or the specified coating or static dissipative build is installed and verified.
- Protection, testing and handback. Static readings are recorded where they apply, the floor is protected for the trades that follow, and we walk each area with facilities before it is reoccupied.
Office flooring in Alpharetta: what facilities teams ask
How much does commercial office flooring cost in Alpharetta?
It is priced on area, the finish, what has to be removed first, and the hours we can work, and every building is surveyed and quoted for free. The most commonly underestimated cost is adhesive removal. Carpet tile lifts easily but leaves a bonded residue that has to be ground off mechanically, and across a large floor plate that is a real part of the job. Out of hours work and any static dissipative scope are quoted on separate lines, so nothing is hidden inside a rate.
Can you work while the building is occupied?
Yes, and it is most of what we do here. We work evenings and weekends, phase floor by floor or suite by suite, and run containment and dust extraction as standard rather than as an add-on. We also specify low odor materials, because odor travels through return air and will reach tenants a long way from the work. Access, elevator use and handback times are agreed with building management before we mobilize.
Do you install static control floors for server rooms?
Yes. For server rooms, network closets and electronics labs we install conductive systems tied into grounding points so surface resistance stays inside the specified range. We agree the target range and the test method with you up front, take readings on completion, and hand those readings over for your records. Mats and wrist straps on an ordinary floor are not an equivalent, and we will say so if that is what is currently in place.
What happens to our old carpet tile and adhesive?
It all comes out. The carpet tile itself lifts quickly, but the adhesive underneath is the part that matters. It has to be mechanically ground off, because polishing or coating over bonded residue is the most reliable way to produce a floor that fails within a year. We extract the dust at source, run that stage out of hours where the building requires it, and take the waste off site.
